How long does it take to build a custom home from the ground up?

Building a custom home typically takes 8-12 months from the time plans are submitted for permitting.

What neighborhoods are best to invest in?

The best neighborhood for your investment depends on your goals. Whether you’re looking to update a home, generate rental income, live close to the medical center, or buy in an established historic area, we can help you choose the ideal location.

Do you offer a warranty on your homes?

Yes, our homes come with a 1-year cosmetic repair warranty, a 2-year warranty on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and a 10-year warranty on the roof.

Does the quality of local school's impact home values when building?

Absolutely! The quality of nearby schools can have a significant effect on home values.

Where do you build homes?

We build SPEC homes primarily in Oak Forest and Greater Heights, and we’re available for custom builds throughout Houston and surrounding areas. We prioritize working close to home, which allows us to keep a close eye on every project, ensuring quality and attention to detail.

Can we buy a lot from you?

Yes, we usually purchase a handful of lots each year in the Oak Forest area for our SPEC builds. If you secure a lot before construction begins, you’ll have the opportunity to customize the home to your liking. If we don’t have a lot that meets your needs, our REALTOR, Katie, can help you find the perfect location.

What is included in an H-TEX SPEC home?

Our SPEC homes include a high-end appliance package, premium flooring, luxury countertops, designer light fixtures, custom cabinets, a sprinkler system, pre-wiring for Control4 home automation, PEX plumbing, and all utilities positioned for future pool installation.

If I purchase a SPEC home during construction, can I select the finishes?

Yes! The earlier you purchase a SPEC home during construction, the more customization options you’ll have to make it uniquely yours. We strive to achieve your vision and create a home that meets your goals.

Do you offer design services, or will I need to hire an architect?

If you choose one of our existing plans, you’ll save on the cost of hiring an architect to design your floor plan. However, if you’re looking for something entirely custom, we recommend working with an architect to bring your vision to life.
